Chef Creates Gourmet Thanksgiving Dinners For Shelter Dogs & Cats

Some very lucky shelter pets will enjoy Thanksgiving in style this year. Chef Malik Von Saint has pledged his culinary skills to the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter where he will create decadent cuisine for the residents.
Chef Von Saint has designed two separate three-course meals to delight both canine and feline palates. The shelter hopes the public event will raise adoption rates by drawing out a new crowd of potential adopters.

President of the Friends of the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, Kerry Neaf, shared her optimism about the event’s potential with ShelterMe.tv:
“We’re hoping people who wouldn’t usually come in will stop in for the cuteness factor of cats eating soup and dogs with ice cream. The reason something like this meal is so great is because it brings attention to the shelter animals.”
All of the fresh ingredients that Von Saint will use to serve his 66 feline and 62 canine diners have been donated by area vendors. The locally known chef will also have the assistance of a few other Buffalo-based cooks to help him pull off the event.
Wondering what’s on the menu? Von Saint’s canine customers will enjoy an appetizer of Charcuterie-style smoked German weiners donated by Spar’s European Sausage Shop. The main course will consist of Melange of turkey, sweet potato, jasmine rice and vitamins with pureed edamame – all topped with a single blade of fresh grass.
